Safety & security
Safety and Security Center
Players come to IWGames to relax and compete. We set clear rules for how everyone behaves and give players the tools to control their own experience.
Younger players
Players aged 13 to 15 can play every mode against the computer or friends, with chat and ranked play turned off until they turn 16.
Chat and privacy controls
Choose who can message you, mute or block any player, and decide whether your profile appears on public leaderboards.
Account security
We watch for suspicious sign-ins and encourage every player to turn on two-step verification.
Community rules
Play fair, be respectful and keep chat friendly. The rules apply in every match, lobby and on our Discord.
Reporting misconduct
Report a player from the match screen, their profile or the leaderboard. Every report is reviewed.
Sanctions and appeals
See any action taken on your account, why it was taken, and appeal if you think we got it wrong.
01Younger players
IW Backgammon is made for players aged 13 and over. We ask for a birth date when you create an account and set up the experience to match.
Players under 16 can play the computer, play friends by invite link and keep their progress. Public chat, ranked matchmaking and appearing on leaderboards stay off. Their username is replaced with a generated name in any public list.
If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email safety@infinityweb.io and we will close it and delete the data.
02Chat and privacy controls
- Chat
- Turn match chat off, limit it to quick messages only, or allow it with friends only.
- Mute and block
- Mute a player for one match, or block them so you are never matched again.
- Profile visibility
- Hide your country and match history, or leave the public leaderboard entirely.
- Invites
- Only accept match invites from people you have played before.
All of these are in Settings › Privacy in the game and apply on every device you sign in to.
03Account security
- Two-step verification
- Add a code from an authenticator app when you sign in. Turn it on in Settings › Account.
- Sign-in alerts
- We email you when your account is used on a new device.
- Sessions
- See where you are signed in and sign out of any device remotely.
- Phishing
- We will never ask for your password by email or chat. Staff never contact players in match chat.
Think your account has been taken over? Reset your password, then write to safety@infinityweb.io and we will help you recover it and restore your rating.
04Community rules
- Play fair
- No bots, engines or analysis tools during live matches, and no match fixing or account sharing.
- Be respectful
- No harassment, threats, hate speech, or sexual or violent content.
- Keep it honest
- No impersonating staff or other players, scams or offers to trade accounts.
- Protect privacy
- Do not share anyone’s personal information, including your own.
The full rules are part of our Terms & Conditions.
05Reporting misconduct
Tap the player’s name, choose Report and pick a reason: cheating, abusive chat, inappropriate username or something else. The report includes the match record and chat log, so you do not need to take screenshots.
Our moderators review reports every day. Cheating reports are checked against our fair-play analysis. We tell you when we have taken action, without sharing details about the other player.
For anything that puts someone at risk of harm, email safety@infinityweb.io straight away.
06Sanctions and appeals
- Warning
- A notice in the game explaining which rule was broken.
- Chat restriction
- Chat turned off for 24 hours to 30 days.
- Rating reset
